Whale watching is an activity that involves observing cetaceans in their natural habitat. The excursion to the Cetacean Sanctuary by motorboat is a unique and exciting experience that pleases everyone, from families with children to nature photography enthusiasts. Tourists from around the world choose Liguria as their favorite destination to admire the wonders of the Mediterranean Sea. The trip combines fun and education, all under the guidance of a trained team composed of a crew, marine biologist, expert whale watcher, photographer, and research institutes. The entire team engages and assists with the observation at sea with commentary, information, and trivia, thus transforming the enjoyable experience into a true learning opportunity. The activity lasts approximately 4 hours (it can increase by no more than 30-45 minutes depending on sightings). Observations at sea are conducted with the aid of binoculars: preparation, practice, passion, and patience are the essential ingredients for an excellent whale watching experience. Our spotters are always ready to sweep the surface of the horizon in search of fins, backs and puffers.
USEFUL TIPS: We recommend arriving at the embarkation point approximately thirty minutes before departure, where payment and ticket collection will take place. The return time is approximate; always allow thirty minutes before your scheduled return time. Payment by credit or debit card is only possible for departures from Camogli and Genoa. Wear comfortable clothing and shoes, and bring a windbreaker, hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses. Don't forget your camera and, if you have one, binoculars! If you suspect you suffer from seasickness or this is your first time on board, consider bringing appropriate medication, as advised by your doctor, as only seasickness-specific bags are available on board. For safety reasons, we recommend that expectant mothers consult their doctor before booking. You may bring a packed lunch to eat on board. If you need to use disabled access, remember that boarding is via the bow gangway with a maximum clearance of 60 cm.
